§ Mr. Evelyn Kingasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what progress local authorities have made in respect of the provision of parking facilities, etc., for the disabled as required by Section 8 of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act; and if she will make a statement.
§ Mr. van StraubenzeeThe Section, which relates to the provision of educational buildings, does not come into force until 29th November. Guidance on the Act was given to all local authorities in a joint circular, a copy of which I am sending to my hon. Friend. I have no doubt that local education authorities and others responsible for providing such buildings will do their best to meet the needs of disabled users.
