HC Deb 02 November 1970 vol 805 c250W
Mr. Clinton Davis

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what is the nature of the complaints which have been made to his Department concerning methods used to seek orders or payment for directory entries.

Mr. Ridley

Complaints allege that requests for approval of proofs, or for payment, are so framed that unwary recipients may wrongly think that the proofs relate to free entries, or the payments to firm commitments arising from specific orders or from approval of proofs.
