§ Mr. Wallasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what request he has received for ex-gratia compensation to be paid to the Cricket Council as a result of the Government's request to cancel the South African cricket tour; and what consideration has been given to the matter.

No such request has yet been received, but the Cricket Council has been informed that should it suffer any financial 608W loss due to the cancellation of the tour Her Majesty's Government will be willing to consider whether assistance could appropriately be given.
