HC Deb 29 May 1970 vol 801 cc646-7W
Mr. Brooks

asked the Minister of Technology when the Capenhurst gas centrifuge plant will become operational; what he estimates will be the scale of output and employment during the 1970's; and whether he will now announce the site for the manufacture of the centrifuges.

Mr. Harold Lever:

It is expected that the first stage of the initial centrifuge plant will be commissioned at Capenhurst in 1972, after which capacity will be developed as demand increases. The discussions between the A.E.A. and its Dutch and German partners in the proposed tripartite companies have not yet reached the point where reliable answers can be given to the remaining parts of the Question.—(Vol. 796, c. 10.]
