§ Sir Clive Bossomasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food by how much more farm costs rose annually on average between 1965 and 1970 than between 1960 and 1965.
§ Mr. Mackie:Comparisons based on single years do not adequately reflect variations in inputs and outputs that are due to factors like the weather. On average total farm expenses rose by 3.9 per cent. per annum between 1964–65 and 1969–70 compared with 2.9 per cent. per annum between 1959–60 and 1964–65—but between these two periods the volume of production increased by over 10 per cent.
