HC Deb 28 May 1970 vol 801 cc561-2W
Mr. Judd

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what communications he has received from The Samaritans organisation for helping potential suicide cases since February, 1969, concerning the possibility of financial support; what replies he has sent; and whether he will make a statement.

Dr. John Dunwoody:

The Samaritans' request for a grant was received in February, 1969, and further supporting papers were sent in November and September, and also in January this year. No decision on this request has yet been reached as explained to the organisation, this is because we are having to review the whole range of voluntary effort to determine our priorities for aid to the many bodies which have sought grants. It is hoped to complete this review shortly.

hospital facilities in the Portsmouth area during the current financial year; and whether he will make a statement.
