§ Mr. Emeryasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what, from information available to him from international sources, was the proportion of personal disposable income saved in the period 1959–68 and in 1968 alone, calculated on a comparable basis in the following countries, namely, Japan, France, West Germany, Italy, Sweden, the United States of America and the United Kingdom.
