HC Deb 28 May 1970 vol 801 cc556-7W
Mr. Russell Johnston

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what proposals he has for the provision of more nursery schools in Scotland.

Mr. Ross:

The provision of almost 1,000 additional nursery places has been approved in principle under the urban programme. The number of pupils attending education authority and grant-aided nursery schools and classes at January, 1969, was 9,290 compared to 6,225 at January, 1965.
