§ Mr. Dempseyasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the estimated cost and Government grant, respectively, towards the piping and infilling of the present stretch of the Monkland Canal, Coatbridge; what area this project covers; and when the work will be completed.
§ Mr. Ross:One thousand yards of the canal is at present being piped and in-filled at an estimated cost of about £460,000. Grant will be payable at the rate of 90 per cent. of the approved net cost. I expect the work to be completed by September, 1971.
