§ Sir R. Russellasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a further statement about the progress of the arrangements for the draft convention for the prevention of hi-jacking of aircraft.
§ Mr. Luard:The draft convention will be considered at a Diplomatic Conference which will open in The Hague on the 1st December. For the reasons which my hon. Friend the Under-Secretary gave in reply to Questions on 4th May, the Government have concluded as a result of the inquiries they have made of other Governments that it would not be possible to secure general international agreement to bringing forward the date.—[Vol. 801, c. 26–7.]
