HC Deb 28 May 1970 vol 801 cc582-3W
Mr. E. Hudson Davies

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he is aware of the concern among the nursing profession in Wales over the provision for representation on the area boards outlined in the Green Paper on the Reorganisation of the Health Service in Wales; and if he will take steps to ensure that full consideration is given to the claim of nurses for adequate representation on the area boards.

Mr. George Thomas:

The Government's proposals would reserve one third of the membership of the area boards for representatives appointed by the main health professions, including the nursing profession. I have invited all major nursing organisations to comment upon the Welsh Green Paper, and when these are received I will give them careful consideration.
