HC Deb 28 May 1970 vol 801 cc527-8W
Mr. Onslow

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what estimate he has formed of the number of electors who will be unable to vote on 18th June by reason of their absence on holiday.

Mr. Elystan Morgan:

I cannot make a reliable estimate. This matter was considered by Mr. Speaker's Conference in 1967, which recommended that absence on holiday should not qualify for a postal vote.
