Mr. John Fraser

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science which schools in Lambeth are currently within educational priority areas; and what special assistance is being given to them.

Education priority areas have not been designated by the Department. But, on the basis of proposals submitted by the Inner London Education Authority, 10 schools in the Borough of Lambeth are currently benefiting from the special allowance of £75 per annum for teachers in schools of exceptional difficulty or from building programme allocations for the improvements or replacement of premises in 1970–72. The schools are:

  • Effra C.P.
  • Haselrigge C.P.
  • Holy Trinity C.E. P.
  • St. Gerards R.C. (S.B.)
  • St. John the Divine C.E. P.
  • St. John's C.E. P. Angell Town.
  • St. Jude's C.E. P.
  • St. Peter's C.E. P.
