§ Mr. Brooksasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science on what criteria applicants for entry to the Open University will be accepted for degree courses.
§ Miss Jennie Lee:This is a matter for the university to decide. No formal academic qualifications are required, but the university prospectus indicates that the considerations to be taken into account will include student's occupation, capacity to benefit from study, availability of tutorial help in the student's areas, and date of application.
