HL Deb 19 May 1970 vol 310 c1041WA
LORD CONESFORD

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether it is their intention that the United Kingdom should become a party to The Hague Convention on the recognition of divorces and legal separations.

THE LORD CHANCELLOR

Yes. The Government have given instructions for this Convention to be signed on behalf of the United Kingdom and propose, as soon as an opportunity is available, to introduce legislation enabling us to ratify it.
