HC Deb 15 May 1970 vol 801 c366W
Mr. Chichester-Clark

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what steps he has taken to stem the reduction in sheep rearing in Northern Ireland.

Mr. Cledwyn Hughes:

The increases in the guaranteed price of fat sheep and in the rate of grants for land improvement announced at the Annual Review should provide encouragement and assistance to the sheep industry as a whole, in Northern Ireland as in the rest of the United Kingdom, and so help to check the decline in flock numbers.
