HC Deb 15 May 1970 vol 801 c403W
Mr. John Lee

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what representations he has received from Reading Corporation with regard to the corporation's plans for housing for the period 1971 to 1974.

Mr. Freeson:

The Corporation has not started any new housing scheme since February, 1969. It is now proceeding with two schemes totalling only 50 dwellings. Substantially larger schemes will be needed if it is to clear the 742 unfit dwellings given in its slum clearance returns to the Minister for 1970–74 and deal with priority lists and other housing needs in the town.
