HC Deb 15 May 1970 vol 801 c413W
Mr. Eadie

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is his estimate of the financial advantage to industry in the area of the Highlands and Islands Development Board of the 50 per cent. industrial derating.

Mr. Ross:

If industrial subjects in the area of the Highlands and Islands Development Board had not been derated, it is estimated that the additional rates payments in respect of them in 1969–70 would have been about £450,000.
