HC Deb 15 May 1970 vol 801 c436W
Mr. Stainton

asked the Minister of Transport by what authority representatives of Her Majesty's Government serve on the Harwich Harbour Conservancy Board; and what action those representatives have taken to seek the co-option of representatives of riparian owners or local authorities other than those with immediate dock interests.

Mr. Bob Brown:

Of the members of the Harwich Harbour Conservancy Board appointed under Section 4 of the Harwich Harbour Act, 1863, one is appointed by the Treasury, one by the Minister of Defence and two by the Minister of Transport. I know of no provision for the co-option of members to the board.
