HC Deb 14 May 1970 vol 801 cc316-7W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what are his rules and regulations regarding females becoming London taxi drivers, subject to passing the required tests; and how many women held taxi-cab driver licences at the latest convenient stated date.

Mr. Elystan Morgan:

The provisions regulating the grant of a driver's licence for a London hackney carriage make no distinction between males and females. Five women at present hold such licences.
