HC Deb 14 May 1970 vol 801 cc353-4W
Mr. Brooks

asked the Minister of Overseas Development if she will now give further details of the increased support for multilateral programmes in the field of population and family planning.

Mrs. Hart:

I propose to double our grant to the International Planned Parenthood Federation for the second year running, bringing it up to £200,000 for the current financial year; to support the population activities of the O.E.C.D. Development Centre in Paris with a grant of £10,417 a year for the next two years, and to make a grant of £400,000 to the United Nations Fund for Population Activities of which £150,000 might be spent in the current financial year and the balance in 1971–72. I also envisage further, and probably increased, support for both the I.P.P.F. and the United Nations Fund in future years if their programmes warrant it.
