HC Deb 14 May 1970 vol 801 c352W
Mr. W. H. K. Baker

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many approvals for the construction of inshore fishing vessels in foreign yards were given by the White Fish Authority in England and Wales in each of the last two financial years; and how many aprovals were given for constructions in British yards for the same years.

Mr. Hoy:

I am informed the White Fish Authority in the financial year 1968–69 approved 12 applications from owners in England and Wales for grant for inshore fishing vessels to be built abroad and 58 to be built in the United Kingdom. The figures for 1969–70 were seven and 50 respectively.
