HC Deb 14 May 1970 vol 801 cc361-2W
Mr. Anderson

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what action he is taking in regard to the increase in the incidence of the disease, farmer's lung, in Wales; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. George Thomas:

Farmer's lung is not a notifiable disease and full statistics of its incidence in 1969 are not available. The disease is well recognised and research is continuing. In addition my right hon. Friend the Minister of Agriculture, 10,000 Fisheries and Food has issued advice to farmers about the modifications they can 47,265 make in farming practices to prevent the disease. This is at present the best protection against it.
