asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will make a statement on the meeting of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development Committee on Shipping, held at Geneva from 20th April to 1st May.

Mr. Goronwy Roberts:

The recent meeting of the Committee on Shipping considered various matters including expansion of and protection for the merchant marines of developing countries, liner conference practices, and the level and structure of liner freight rates. Six resolutions were adopted unanimously and one by majority vote.
