HC Deb 12 May 1970 vol 801 cc268-9W
Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he has now completed his examination of those private nursing homes performing abortion operations; and what action he now proposes.

Mr. Crossman:

I would refer my hon. Friend to my reply on 27th April to my hon. Friend the Member for Wolverhampton, North-East (Mrs. Rene Short) in which I listed the establishments which had been approved with effect from 27th April, 1970, following my examination of applications from proprietors together with those whose applications were deferred or refused. In no instance was approval given for more than three months. I am arranging for further inspection of all these places before the current approvals expire.—[Vol. 800, c. 213–14.]
