HC Deb 11 May 1970 vol 801 c227W
86. Mr. Goodhart

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what plans he has to increase the amount of accommodation available for seriously maladjusted educationally sub-normal children.

Miss Bacon:

Direct responsibility for providing suitable school places for handicapped children of all kinds lies with local education authorities. In approving projects for inclusion in special school building programmes the Department accords highest priorities to provision for educationally sub-normal and maladjusted pupils.
