HC Deb 11 May 1970 vol 801 c244W
Mr. Dempsey

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland when he expects demolition work to begin on the site acquired for the new sheriff court buildings at Airdrie; what are the approximate starting and finishing dates of the new buildings; and what is the estimated cost of the project.

Mr. Ross:

These are matters for Lanarkshire County Council; I understand that they hope that demolition work will begin in October and building work early in 1971. The building is expected to take about two years to complete; a firm estimate of cost cannot yet be made but it will probably be of the order of £500,000.
