HC Deb 11 May 1970 vol 801 c239W
Mr. Thorpe

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what proposals he has for ensuring that greater publicity is given to the opportunities for third parties affected to make known their objections to the planning authorities.

Mr. Greenwood:

Steps have already been taken in the Town and Country Planning Act 1968 to ensure that where development proposals have to be advertised in the local Press, a notice must be displayed on or near the site. Such notices draw attention to the opportunity to make representations. I am about to consult local authority associations on the draft of a circular on publicity for planning applications.
