Mr. Alan Lee Williamsasked the Prime Minister whether he will make a further statement regarding the formation of the Office of Population Censuses and Surveys.
§ The Prime Minister:Yes. The Office of Population Censuses and Surveys, resulting from the merger between the General Register Office and the Government Social Survey Department, was established today. The Head of the new Office, with the title of Director and Registrar General, is Mr. Michael Reed, C.B. Estimates will be presented in due Course.
