HC Deb 11 May 1970 vol 801 c218W
Mr. Pardoe

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will take steps to reduce the dental charge to patients for routine dental maintenance.

Dr. John Dunwoody:

This would involve difficulties of definition, and I am not convinced that it would necessarily be in the best interests of dental health. Where a course of dental treatment involves only a small amount of simple treatment, patients already pay less than the statutory maximum charge.
