HC Deb 07 May 1970 vol 801 c172W
67. Mr. Sillars

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity if she has considered the representations from the Trades Union Congress on the effect of the Budget on the development of a practicable voluntary incomes policy; and if she will now undertake to convene a national conference of both sides of industry to examine the role of a prices and incomes policy in an expanding economy.

Mr. Harold Walker:

No representations have been received. My right hon. Friend does not propose to convene such a conference as her normal contacts with both sides are sufficient to keep her in touch with their views on the development of the policy.
