HC Deb 07 May 1970 vol 801 c187W
Mr. Sheldon

asked the Minister for the Civil Service how many civil servants attended external management courses in 1969 and 1968; and what was the average length of the courses.

Mr. Shore:

The number of civil servants who attended external management courses in the training year 1st August. 1967 to 31st July, 1968 was 1,351; and in the training year 1st August. 1968 to 31st July, 1969 it was 2,238. It is not possible to give a meaningful average course length, since the courses attended ranged in duration from one day to 12 months, with a great variety of lengths in between.
