§ Mr. Sillarsasked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many of the Scottish fire authorities are now using operational firemen on fire prevention duties; and if he will send a circular to all authorities recommending this practice.
§ Mr. Ross:Operational firemen are not used extensively for fire prevention work at the present time. A working party appointed by the Scottish Central Fire Brigades Advisory Council is looking into the matter and is expected to report soon.
