HC Deb 05 May 1970 vol 801 c110W
Mrs. Ewing

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what number of students in Scotland are accommodated in student residences; and what proportion this is of the total.

Mr. Ross:

It is estimated that in session 1968–69 the average number of full-time students in higher education in Scotland who were accommodated in student residences and hostels was about 9,900. This represents about 19 per cent. of the total number of such students.
