HC Deb 05 May 1970 vol 801 cc105-6W
Mr. Powell

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what steps it is proposed to take to obtain statistics, such as are now available for England and Wales, of the origin of persons dying in Scotland and of the parents of persons born in Scotland.

Mr. Ross:

The Registrar General has for some time been making a statistical analysis of information on the place of birth of deceased persons and of the parents of new born children. He will publish in his Return for the first quarter of 1970 (and quarterly thereafter) statistics on births in Scotland by place of birth of parents. Statistics on deaths by place of birth of deceased will be published when a year's data becomes available.
