Mr. Henry Clark

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many schemes for the amalgamation of farms in Northern Ireland have been approved under the Agriculture Act, 1967; and what is the total value of payments made to outgoing farmers under the Act.

Mr. Mackie:

By 31st March, 1970, 271 schemes had been approved and payments to outgoing farmers amounted to £115,788 for lump sums and £18,338 for annuities.
