HC Deb 05 May 1970 vol 801 c103W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Minister for the Civil Service what is his estimate of the minimum numbers of civil servants required to carry out the tasks allotted to the Civil Service.

Mr. Shore:

I would refer to the reply my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister gave on 14th April about Civil Service non-industrial staff numbers in the present year. The figures in that answer represent our estimate of Departments' staffing needs for the work to be done.—[Vol. 799, c. 219.]
