§ Mr. Rhodesasked the Secretary of State for Defence whether he will arrange for improved monthly and quarterly recruiting statistics to be published in order to give more information about trends in recruitment.
Mr. Hattersiey:Yes. Both the quarterly Vote Office Return and the figures released to the Press in months when no quarterly return is due are shortly to be presented in a revised form which will show trends over 12 monthly periods in addition to giving figures for the current month or quarter. The information provided by the returns will be amplified and clarified in certain other respects. The first of the new series of quarterly returns will be published in the second half of May and will deal with the quarter ending 31st March, 1970. The first revised issue of the intervening monthly returns will be published in June and will relate to the month of April, 1970.
