HC Deb 04 May 1970 vol 801 c29W
Mr. Molloy

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what action he will take to prevent interference with subcontracts from Government sources given to Duvalls of Perivale, Middlesex, a firm which refuses to meet officers of the Amalgamated Engineering and Foundry Workers Union to discuss the operation of the fair wages clause.

Mr. Richard:

The satisfactory performance of sub-contracts placed in connection with Government contracts is primarily a matter between the main contractors and the sub-contractors concerned. Defence work at Duvalls is not being interfered with, although I am aware that there are delays in the firm's output for civil purposes.
