§ Mr. Molloyasked the Secretary of State for Defence what action he will take to prevent interference with subcontracts from Government sources given to Duvalls of Perivale, Middlesex, a firm which refuses to meet officers of the Amalgamated Engineering and Foundry Workers Union to discuss the operation of the fair wages clause.
§ Mr. Richard:The satisfactory performance of sub-contracts placed in connection with Government contracts is primarily a matter between the main contractors and the sub-contractors concerned. Defence work at Duvalls is not being interfered with, although I am aware that there are delays in the firm's output for civil purposes.
