HC Deb 04 May 1970 vol 801 c16W
Mr. Sillars

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will make a statement on changes proposed for the Cumnock office of the Ministry of Social Services; and how such changes will affect service to the public, and employment prospects of the present staff, respectively.

Mr. O'Malley:

We propose to transfer the back room clerical work, at present dealt with at Cumnock, to the offices in Ayr and Dumfries. The Cumnock office will continue to provide a comprehensive service for callers and the Departments service to the public in the area will be unaffected. There will be no redundancy as a result of this reorganisation.
