asked the Minister of Technology what percentage of the computer industry in relation to United Kingdom production is based in Scotland; and what percentage this represents of the European, United States, and world markets, respectively.

Dr. Ernest A. Davies:

Separate production figures for Scotland are not recorded, but about 15 per cent. of the total numbers employed in the computer industry in the United Kingdom are in Scotland. Comparative figures for the rest of the world are not available.
