HC Deb 26 March 1970 vol 798 cc464-5W
44. Mr. Malcolm MacMillan

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity if she will make a statement showing the age and sex distribution of the unemployed in each of the islands of Barra, South Uist, Benbecula, North Uist and in the Stornoway area at the last count.

Mr. Dell

A detailed age analysis of the numbers registered as wholly unemployed is available for the area covered by Stornoway employment exchange. For Barra, South Uist, Benbecula and North Uist the statistics distinguish only those under 18 years of age and those aged 18 and over. I will, with permission, circulate in the OFFICIAL REPORT the available information.
