HC Deb 26 March 1970 vol 798 c514W
Mr. Malcolm MacMillan

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) how many houses for old people have been built by Stornaway Town Council in each of the past 10 years; and how many it is proposed to build in the current year;

(2) how many houses have been designed or adapted by Stowaway Town Council in each of the past 10 years for occupation by disabled persons;

(3) what rent is now payable by tenants of old people's houses in Stornaway; what rent was payable in 1966; and what advice he has offered to local housing authorities with reference to changes in such rents.

Mr. Ross

I have advised local authorities that the rents of all their houses should be reasonable and that adequate rent rebates should be available to tenants in need of them. I have asked the town council to send my hon. Friend the other information.
