HC Deb 26 March 1970 vol 798 c487W
Mr. Lomas

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what provision has been made by the Huddersfield Fire Authority to deal with major accidents and fire on the M62 between Huddersfield and Rochdale.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

I am informed that discussions are proceeding between the Huddersfield fire authority, in whose area access to this stretch of motorway will be, and the Lancashire, West Riding and Rochdale fire authorities; that the Huddersfield fire authority has under consideration the acquisition of a special rescue tender and additional communications equipment; and that members of the Huddersfield Brigade have been given intensive training in dealing with motorway incidents.
