Mr. Eyre

asked the Minister of Transport whether he will publish the details of the instructions he has given to his enforcement officers with regard to possible prosecutions arising out of the Transport Act 1968, in respect of offences resulting from non-compliance with restrictions upon the working hours of drivers.

Mr. Mulley

As stated earlier both in the House and to the Press, I have asked my enforcement staff to concentrate their efforts, until 1st June, upon bringing the new rules to the attention of drivers and their employers.
