§ Mr. Roseasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will lay down special rules to ease entry for British citizens of Asian origin who 487W are denied educational facilities in their country of residence by reason of their nationality; and, in particular, whether he will now announce a decision in the case sent to him by the hon. Member for Manchester, Blackley, in January, 1970.
§ Mr. Merlyn ReesUnited Kingdom passport holders who wish to come here for education are eligible for admission as students in accordance with the normal rules of the Commonwealth immigration control. A United Kingdom passport holder, or dependant of such a person, in East Africa who is denied an entry certificate for admission as a student has a right of appeal, but I am looking into the case raised by the hon. Member and will write to him.
