HC Deb 26 March 1970 vol 798 c494W
Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many representations he has received concerning the classification of apprentices earning less than £4 a week as self-employed; and what reply he has sent.

Mr. Ennals

About 20 representations have been made. The replies thereto said that the position of apprentices had been carefully considered, but the difficulties of a special arrangement to keep apprentices in Class I would be greater than any advantages.
