Mr. Bob BrownA signal-controlled vehicle-actuated "Pelican" pedestrian crossing, in a realistic and enforceable 40 m.p.h. speed limit, is likely to offer better protection to pedestrians than the existing uncontrolled crossing and ill-observed 30 m.p.h. limit. We will be introducing both measures as soon as the Pelican equipment is available.
