HC Deb 24 March 1970 vol 798 cc363-4W
120. Mr. Iremonger

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the increase in interest payments by the company sector in £ million at an annual rate seasonally adjusted between the third quarters of 1964 and 1969, excluding dividends on ordinary shares, and the estimate for the annual amount now being spent on investment grants.

Mr. William Rodgers

Interest payments by the company sector in the third quarter of 1969, seasonally adjusted and converted to an annual rate, are provisionally estimated to have been £992 million higher than the corresponding figure for the third quarter of 1964. The Budget Estimate for payment of investment grants in 1969–70, including supplementary estimates, is £590 million, the bulk of which would accrue to the company sector.
