asked the Minister of Technology whether he will give a general direction to the Gas Council that the cost of conversion of gas meters from 6d. to a 1s. as a result of decimalisation should be borne by the Gas Council and not consumers, especially those on small incomes.

No charge is made by gas boards for such conversions of their own primary meters.
